The Norwegian Ambassador participated, on March 22, in a high-level debate in the Romanian Parliament on the Minimum Package of Services for children and their families, a result of a project funded by Norway. In Romania, 48.5% of children are exposed to poverty and risk of exclusion, 17.4% are abandoning school, and one child out of three is leaving school in rural areas.
“We need more, not less cooperation with the EU on the common challenges facing Europe”, said Minister of EEA and EU Affairs Elisabeth Aspaker, pointing out the Single Market strategy, migration, climate and energy among the main priorities in the Government´s European work programme for 2016.
