Minister of EEA and EU affairs, Mr. Vidar Helgesen visited Romania April 14 – 15. Mr. Helgesen met with Prime-Minister Victor Ponta, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu and Minister of EU Funds Marius Nica. He also visited projects funded by Norway to help reduce social and economic disparities in Romania.

A community centre was opened last week in Iasi by Salvation Army Romania in cooperation with Salvation Army Norway. Until 2017 over 800 people in need will get help. They will have access to education, healthcare, social protection and employment services. Norway contributes with around 3 MEUR to this initiative through the Norway Grants.
