Welcome to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest was established in 1977. It closed however in 1988, but reopened the summer of 1990. We are located in a villa in Bucharest's Sector 1. The Embassy covers both Romania and the Republic of Moldova. In 2003 the first Norwegian honorary consulate in Romania opened in Constanta at the Black Sea Coast.

Our web site has been designed to give you a broad selection of information about Norway, as well as information about Norwegian-Romanian relations and business.

Our opening hours are Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 16:00. The visa section is open from 10:00 to 12:00. Please note that the embassy is closed on certain Norwegian and Romanian public holidays.

In case of emergencies outside opening hours, persons calling the embassy’s phone number will be directed to the emergency centre in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
