Small Project Fund for the Republic of Moldova. Overview of this year’s round of applications

Last updated: 27/05/2011 // The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Romania, accredited to the Republic of Moldova, has successfully completed this year’s call for proposals in the frame of the Small Project Fund for the Republic of Moldova.

Local, national and international authorities and non-governmental organizations in the Republic of Moldova were invited to submit their project proposals at the embassy. The application round was launched on May 27th and was terminated on September 9th 2011.

 

The funding, amounting to EUR 102.696 (equivalent of NOK 800.000) was earmarked for projects under the following main target areas for project cooperation:

·       Democracy and human rights

·       Justice and home affairs

·       Gender and anti-trafficking

·       Education, integration and cultural understanding

 

The Embassy received 101 applications within the deadline and 7 applications after the deadline.  Many of them were well-qualified project proposals. However, the Embassy could not provide funding for all of them. The largest number of applications was received under the Education, integration and cultural understanding area.

·       Community Justice Center Balti

·       Hope& Homes for Children

·       Human Rights Embassy

·       My Generation

·       National Union of Judicial Officers

·       Organization for SME Sector Development (ODIMM)

·       Our yard

·       Partnership for Every child

·       State Institution Hall with Organ

·       State Medical and Pharmaceutical University “Nicolae Testemitanu” (SMPhU)

·       The Institute for Development and Social Initiatives IDIS Viitorul

·       The town hall and high school in Cruglic

·       University Legal Clinic

 

The Embassy would like to thank all the applicants for the interest shown towards the Norwegian Embassy's Small Project Fund for the Republic of Moldova and to inform them that a new round of call for proposals will be organized in 2012. 

 

The Royal Norwegian Embassy has been providing financial support to development projects in the Republic of Moldova under the Small Project Fund since 2002. During the past 10 years more than 100 NGOs and local institutions have implemented projects financed under this fund. They have contributed to fostering democracy and rule of law in Moldova.
