The funding, amounting to EUR 80.000 annually, is earmarked for projects promoting the development of civil society, rule of law, democratization and reconciliation, as well as capacity building and the strengthening of institutions.
Non-governmental organisations (as well as local authorities) in the Republic of Moldova are invited to submit their project proposals for the Spring round no later than April 1st 2010. The Embassy welcomes a broad range of project proposals in the following target areas:

democracy and human rights;

justice and home affairs;

gender and anti-trafficking;

education, integration and cultural understanding.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Chisinau, accredited to the Republic of Moldova, from Bucharest, has been providing financial support to development projects in Moldova under the Small Project Fund programme since 2002. The Small Project Fund for Moldova has two rounds of project application submissions each year, one in spring and one in autumn. During the past 7 years almost 100 NGOs and local institutions have implemented projects financed under this programme and they have contributed to fostering democracy and rule of law in Moldova.
