Successful visit of the Norwegian ambassador to Iasi

Two production halls and two R&D centers have been put up in Vidra, a village just outside Bucharest, with support from a grant from Norway worth of 1,4 million EUR in co-financing. The initiative belongs to the Romanian and Norwegian companies UTTIS Industries and EFD Induction respectively.

A touring EEA and Norway Grants photo exhibition is on display, between 5-30 September, in Piata Mica, Sibiu. The closing conference occasioned by the completion of the EEA and Norway Grants 2007-2009 took place in Bucharest on June 7th. The event brought together over 220 participants, project promoters, media, National Focal Point and Innovation Norway staff, representatives of Norwegian companies in Romania, and the diplomatic corps.

Between April 4-6 the Norwegian ambassador, Mr. Øystein Hovdkinn paid a visit to several EEA Grants projects in Transylvania to assess implementation progress and results achieved. The visit ended with the inauguration of the 5th Gate of the Vauban Fortification in Alba Iulia, restored with a grant from Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein through the EEA Financial Mechanism.
