69 projects selected under the EEA NGO Fund, second round

69 Romanian NGOs have been selected under the second Call for proposals of the EEA NGO Fund. 2,825,711 Euro will be made available to strengthen the civil society in Romania by supporting projects in the following focus areas: consolidating democracy, children and youth - Opportunities for community involvement, an inclusive society - social inclusion and access to social services, environment, and cultural heritage.
The fund operates with large and medium sized-, up to EUR 75.000, and small scale grants, up to EUR 15.000, that have been allocated to 36 and to 33 NGOs respectively, out of which 14 were on cultural heritage and 19 on environment. However, the requested amount was almost ten times the available budget and the number of applications submitted under the second Call for proposals was 524.
The NGO Fund administrator is Fundatia pentru Dezvoltarea Societatii Civile (FDSC), together with its partners, Fondul de Dezvoltare a Euroregiunii Carpatice – FDER Romania, and Fundatia pentru Parteneriat. The total budget Romania benefits through the NGO Fund is 5,000,000 EURO, disbursed to Romanian NGOs selected under the two Calls for proposals.
