Romania at Reiseliv 2010, under the umbrella of the Partnership for Development Project

24/02/2010 // Six Romanian organizations involved in promoting eco-/ agro tourism as well as local and regional development in Romania have participated to the international tourism fair "REISELIV B2B", held in Norway, in Lillestrøm, between January 14-17th 2010.

The visit was part of the Partnership for Development Project (PDP), a project financed under the Norwegian Cooperation Programme for Romania whose overall aim is to enhance Norwegian - Romanian  private business cooperation and to facilitate long term partnerships between SME’s, business networks or sector clusters in Romania and Norway.

At the fair the Romanian representatives established contact with Norwegian entities interested in identifying cooperation opportunities. Due to the considerable interest of the Norwegian part in how to travel and what to see in Romania, it is certain that there is an excellent potential for cooperation between Norwegian and Romanian tourism.

It has been one of the first attempts to promote Romanian eco-/ agro—tourism on the Norwegian market, but judging by the big interest generated among the Norwegians, well-known nature-lovers, future long-terms partnerships between Romanian and Norwegian entities are very likely to be developed.

The Partnership for Development Project (PDP) is a match-making tool that enables Norwegian and Romanian entities to identify new partners, new opportunities and to create and/or develop economically viable businesses. The project’s overall aim is to facilitate search for partners and to stimulate the international growth potential of the Norwegian and Romanian companies.

The Norwegian Cooperation Programme with Romania by which the Norwegian government made available EUR 48 million in co-financing of projects meant to contribute to innovation and technology exchange and to strengthen the busines and the bilateral relations between the two countries. Innovation Norway is the fund manager and administrator of the Programme.
