Visiting Sibiu/Hermannstadt this summer? Do not miss Norwegian "Constructions”

During his official visit to Chisinau, on 14th of May, Ambassador Øystein Hovdkinn participated at the opening of a Norwegian Aula at the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM), the concert in the National Philharmonic of Moldova and the reception following the concert. Both a Norwegian cellist and conductor were performing together with the Philharmonic.

The people of Norway chose Anette Sagen, Norway’s top woman ski jumper, to inaugurate the new Holmenkollen ski jump facility.

The Norwegianness exhibition was opened in Bucharest at UNAGaleria on the 8th of October 2009. Guests from all social strata attended the event which illuminates how Norwegian art is affected by today’s internationalization between self-consciousness and globalization.

The author Knut Hamsun (1859-1952) is both loved and disputed. The way in which he lived his life illuminates an interesting and intriguing personal story and makes him an excellent read which is well worth while. On the 27th and the 28th of October 2009 Hamsun is put to the centre of everyone’s attention at the Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj in the celebration of his 150-year anniversary.
