During his official visit to Chisinau, on 14th of May, Ambassador Øystein Hovdkinn participated at the opening of a Norwegian Aula at the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM), the concert in the National Philharmonic of Moldova and the reception following the concert. Both a Norwegian cellist and conductor were performing together with the Philharmonic.

On the 27th and the 28th of October 2009 Hamsun is put to the centre of everyone’s attention at the Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj in the celebration of his 150-year anniversary.

The fossil is so well preserved that it is possible to distinguish the imprint of fur, and even the remains of gut contents. A team of scientists headed by Jørn Hurum of the Oslo Natural History Museum presented the fossil in New York. They believe that it is the earliest primate fossil ever found.
