The rate has increased the latest few years. The Norwegian Minister wanted to address this issue with Minister Predoui and find suitable ways of transferring Romanian offenders back to their country of origin and to see how the two countries could embark on a closer dialogue within the fields of justice. The Romanian authorities involved in the same issues, including the Interior Ministry responsible for the police force, were preoccupied with these issues, created by a small number of Romanian citizens in Norway.

Mr. Storberget was very satisfied with the outcome of the meeting that he called a positive one. He also stated that that he wants to use available funding from the new financial mechanisms, where Norway will provide grants for Romania in different fields of action. According to the Minister, this would be something both countries would benefit from.
